INTRODUCTION Complexity of subject-matter tends to breed a reactionary oversimplification of the issues in even the keenest of minds. Oversimplification is a phenomenon perceptible to any teacher of an introductory Hebrew Bible course, by necessity in the teacher’s presentation of a vast amount of material within a limited timeframe, and in the beginning student’s grasp of same.
